In partnership with Walker Books, Read for Good hosted a fabulous live online event with the brilliant Michael Rosen and MC Grammar to launch the first ever ‘Michael Rosen Day’. The event also celebrates 50 years since the publication of Michael’s first book, Mind Your Own Business, 35 years since Going on a Bear Hunt was published and 40 years of Readathon.
Over 75,000 pupils from almost 1,000 settings joined live for a fabulous 50 minutes with Michael in conversation with MC Grammar. In this highly entertaining rapping and rhyming event, Michael talked about his poems and inspiration as well as taking questions from the audience. He further delighted the audience with an extract from his infamous Chocolate Cake poem, including a workshopping of his viral meme, ‘nice’, while MC Grammar performed a Going on a Bear Hunt rap!
While aimed at ages 5-9 years, this is a delight to watch for both children and adults alike. The event is available for all to watch on our website here.
