Our supporters
Read for Good receives no government funding. We therefore rely entirely on donations and grants to run our programmes in schools, hospitals and communities across the UK, and we are incredibly grateful to each and every one of our generous, loyal supporters.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the following organisations and individuals, as well as to those who wish to remain anonymous:

Fundraising Patron
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Walker as Read for Good’s first Fundraising Patron. A retired chartered accountant who had a career working as finance director in growing small to medium companies, Michael first became involved with Read for Good as a Trustee in 2016, and became Chair of Trustees a couple of years later. During that time, Michael oversaw the re-engineering of Read for Good’s financial structure to ensure we have a healthy mix of income from a diverse range of sources. In addition, as a progressive philanthropist, Michael has generously supported Read for Good’s work.
In this new role, Michael will be supporting Read for Good’s fundraising strategy, to ensure a healthy and sustainable mix of donors and supporters.
One in two schools in the UK has run Readathon
We are also enormously grateful to the thousands of schools that run Readathon, the pupils who take part, and their friends and family who sponsor them. By reading to raise money for others, they are doing something wonderful, not only for children in hospital across the UK, but for themselves as well, as reading makes everyone’s lives better!
