Our work in the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Edinburgh

We’ve been providing brand new books and regular storytelling visits to children in Edinburgh since 2016. Our work initially took place at the hospital’s original site, however we’re thrilled that we are continuing our service in the hospital’s brand-new location, which opened in 2021.

Edinburgh has the most wonderful hospital arts team, who recognise the importance of books and stories to aid young people in hospital. Our highly experienced Scottish storyteller, Gerry, enchants children and their families throughout the wards, with his traditional tales and spell-binding stories.

“A book is like a window onto another part of the world . . . it makes you feel like you’re not just stuck in hospital.”
