Our work in Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham

Our service in the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, began in 2014, bringing brand new books and regular storyteller visits to its young patients and their families.

The power of a book or story in hospital cannot be underestimated. They provide entertainment and distraction, but more than that, they provide an important bonding moment between loved ones and they can help children escape the four walls of their hospital room.

“My son is currently reading his book to another child so you have made two children happy.”

Parent, Nottingham Children’s Hospital

This is the home-turf of our storyteller, Amanda, who loves being able to enliven the stays of children in her local hospital. Always full of energy and smiles, Amanda has a gift which lifts the spirits of the most weary parent and the most bored child. Her stories delight and enchant and help children’s imaginations run wild!
