Michael Loader

Michael is our storyteller at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Royal Cornwall Hospital, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Michael is the director and founder of Somerset Storyfest who lead pioneering community workshops, exploring themes such as anti-bullying and the plight of refugees. He has been storyteller in residence with Wild Words at St George’s concert hall in Bristol since 2011. 

Having worked in education and the arts for over 35 years at ‘home and abroad’ with the British Council, WOMAD, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the National Archives, he brings a warmth and humour to all he meets. Michael works with all ages from pre-schools to elder’s homes and everyone in-between, sharing the power of stories and imagination.
