Fiona McMorrow

Fiona volunteered at Read for Good offices or several years before revealing her love of storytelling to us! From then, it was only a matter of time before she took over the mantle from Mike O’Leary to delight the children and families of Southampton General Hospital.

Fiona lives near to Read or Good’s offices, with her two youngest sons (of four children), with her partner, a brilliant local bookseller, and a dog called Errol.

She has spent a life working with children firstly as a teacher in primary schools all over the UK. Fiona worked in a Gloucestershire Sure Start Children’s Centre. As an education adviser for the local authority she specialised in language and developed storytelling in schools across the county. Fiona also has an MA in Children’s Literature, and is one of Read for Good’s book reviewers too. She loves a good story!

As a hospital storyteller, Fiona works alongside children helping them tell their own stories, with books, rhymes, songs and traditional tales to help and inspire them.
