The Manchester Readathon

Last year, 103 schools and over 36,000 pupils came together and raised over £12,000 for our charity and its work bringing books and stories to children’s hospitals, including Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, as well as brand new books for school libraries and supporting the work of our wonderful partner, Read Manchester.

Now the second consecutive Manchester Readathon will be running from 15-26 June 2020. We are building a buzz around reading and the power of stories, by asking pupils to read whatever they love during this fabulous fortnight.  Supported by events from guest author, Konnie Huq, to cheer the city on, and a citywide Drop Everything and Read (#DEARManchester) on the final Friday at 2pm.

If you are a Manchester school wanting to take part, you can order your FREE kit by creating an account on our website here – remember to choose ‘Manchester 2020’ in the drop-down box – or give us a call on 01453 839005.

For more information, email manchester@readforgood.org or call Annie on 01453 839005.
