Liverpool City Readathon 2021

We’re thrilled to announce the fourth citywide Liverpool Readathon, run with the support of Liverpool Learning Partnership, to get children across the city reading for one glorious fortnight from 1-12 March 2021, with World Book Day on the first Thursday.

2020’s citywide Readathon was cut off in its prime, with the first lockdown striking half way through the event. However, despite having to close, Liverpool schools still managed to read lots, and raise a fabulous ¬£7,843.24, helping to get books to the city’s schools and to children at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where we know they were gratefully received in such a difficult year.  Liverpool schools – we salute you!

We’re building a buzz about books and the power of stories by asking pupils to read what they love and citywide Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) moments on both Fridays during the city-wide Readathon – click here for special DEAR resources and information. Share your pictures on social media using #DEARLiverpool!
