Leicester Readathon® 2025

Calling all Leicester City and Leicestershire schools: Join the Leicester Readathon® 2025

Read for Good are working in partnership with Whatever it Takes to inspire readers in Leicester City and Leicestershire with a wonderful week of reading and raising!

At Read for Good, we believe that children who read for fun in their spare time are more likely to lead happy, fulfilled lives. We deliver programmes designed to support parents and professionals working with children and young people to help enable, empower and inspire a life-changing love of reading.

Donations and Readathon sponsorship support our hospital programme which provides a regular supply of brand new books and professional storyteller visits to brighten up the days of children in all of the UK’s main children’s hospitals.

Readathon® is our flagship sponsored read, designed to be really easy to run, with everything you need in our fabulous bright orange kits and supported by a host of online resources. Pupils choose to read whatever they love and ask family and friends to sponsor them.  The money raised supports our hospital programme, providing a regular supply of brand-new books and professional storyteller visits to children in hospitals across the UK, including Leicester Children’s Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre (Nottingham) and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Plus, schools also receive 20% of whatever they raise back in the form of Scholastic Book Clubs vouchers to buy more books for their own classrooms and school library. Find out more here.
