Our work in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
We are delighted to support young patients in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH), one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals.
GOSH was one of the first hospitals in London to benefit from our service, which was launched by beloved children’s author Malorie Blackman in 2014. Today, the patients at GOSH enjoy regular visits from our storyteller Wilf, who perks up children with his delightful tales. He loves to know what interests each child, so that he can help them choose the perfect book from our jam-packed bookcase.
“I love the book service. Books are like a portal into another world, they are an opportunity to imagine a different reality than the one we see, in the same way that play is. In fact, the wondrous thing about having access to so many books is that it creates a playground of the imagination right in the patient’s room.”
Laura Walsh, Head of Play Services, GOSH
