Our work in Evelina London Children’s Hospital

Evelina London Children’s Hospital is placed right in the heart of the city of London.

Our service there was launched in 2013 with a memorable visit from popular children’s author (and future Children’s Laureate) Cressida Cowell. Since then, it has been greatly valued by children, their families, and hospital staff alike.

But we didn’t stop there! As a result of our partnership, the walls on the way to children’s theatre have since been adorned with the beautiful artwork of Axel Scheffler, featuring Julia Donaldson’s lovable characters, Zog and the Flying Doctors.

“Your books are an invaluable resource at the moment. We would not be managing without them.”

Teacher/Literacy Lead, Evelina London Children’s Hospital

Children on Evelina’s wards also enjoy regular storytelling visits from our storyteller, Jen. Jen is incredibly creative and loves taking stories from places she goes, which explains why she describes herself as a ‘story collector’, rather than a storyteller!
