Citywide Readathons

Our Readathon has been running in individual schools since 1984, but since 2017 we’ve also been unleashing its power across whole cities by joining forces with local literacy charities to build a buzz around books and stories for one glorious fortnight in cities like Manchester, Leicester and Liverpool.

MAT & LEA partnerships

We work with academy chains and local authorities to support outstanding approaches to literacy in schools.  By unleashing the power of our Readathon across your network you can:

  • build a buzz about books and the power of stories
  • introduce a healthy element of competition in your network
  • know that the sponsorship money you raise will be used to get books and storytellers into your nearest major children’s hospital
  • support your school libraries (20% of whatever you raise)
  • above all: inspire children to read for fun
