Too Much Stuff

Emily Gravett

Emily Gravett is an established and prize winning author and illustrator and this beautifully designed book reflects her confident approach to writing fun stories with a considered message.

The magpies are influenced by the advertising in an old magazine that they use to line their nest. They want the best for their eggs and think that stuff is the answer. Their collection grows larger and larger and the nest becomes more and more precarious, until the inevitable happens and the nest crashes to the ground.

How the animals and birds deal with the fallout is intriguing and amusing. It illustrates the essence of repurposing, reducing, reusing and recycling.

A fable for our time that is funny and thoughtful, what’s not to like? A story for adults and children.
