Skylar’s grandfather is ill. Yakov’s friends and family are a long way away. They are both full of anxiety but an unlikely friendship springs up between them. As they unite in the determination to win a competition to win an island they will venture into uncharted waters. It seems impossible that they could ever win against the formidable adult competition but their need is great. With excellent characters of all kinds this story ramps up the tension with some real life desperation. Difficult to put down!
Why I like it – It’s a lot of fun to read and is enhanced by having some villains to hate! Good for any child who likes adventure as well as stories about friendship. Great for reading aloud!
