The Mystery in Flat 6B
Karen McCombie, illustrated by Thy Bui
This is part of a series of short books for pupils of primary age, written by well known authors, some of which come with teaching notes. The Mystery of Flat 6B is about JoJo who has to move into a new flat with his dad and his pet rat Spike. Immediately, Jojo becomes aware of strange things happening in the flat next door.
Despite the brevity of the book the story has all the elements of a longer tale: interesting characters, a sense of mystery and I’m sure the resolution would create a sense of satisfaction for a reluctant reader.
