This is the first in a new series of middle-grade books. Indigo and Rusty live in a funeral parlour, but they don’t believe in ghosts. That is until Indigo accidentally releases The Cinderman, a terrifying ash monster who will turn everyone into Zombies unless the twins can stop him by sunset.
Sibling rivalry and team work with a hefty dose of horror make this an original and compelling read. I liked the short chapters although the plot made me keep on turning the pages. Recommended for fans of Dread Wood, Goosebumps and Lockwood & Co.
