Sin Bin Island

At a glance
From the creator of Red Dwarf comes a story full of laugh out loud humour, magic, boarding school and a group of children who discover how important their friendship really is.
Digs is sent to Cyril Sniggs ‘Correctional Orphanage for Wayward Boys and Girls’. He doesn’t understand why Mrs O’Malley can’t continue to care for him following the death of his family, nor does he understand the magical nest of Russian dolls that seem to be helping him navigate his way through the school but when he is sent to the infamous Sin Bin Island discoveries are made and Digs starts to see his future.
This is the first of a new series and it’s great fun. Lessons in firing cannon balls, eating like a pirate and escaping Komodo dragons are just some of the lessons Digs has to manage but the sensitive way that grief is discussed by the children towards the end makes an utterly bonkers book actually quite poignant.
