Silverborn – The Mystery of Morrigan Crow

Jessica Townsend

I’m late to join the huge number of Nevermoor fans but am now placing myself fully into the centre of them and will need to go back to the first one and read retrospectively. This latest novel (number 4), part of the multi-award winning series which has taken the middle-grade fantasy world by storm and is now being developed as a film, is superb. It’s also very long!

Morrigan Crow who is now settled in the magical city of Nevermoor and is learning how to use her newly acquired magical powers, is reunited with her relatives, the Darling family – they who are “Silverborn”. Morrigan is both delighted and conflicted as they welcome her into their family, especially as she has secrets of her own to keep.

This is for fans of Harry Potter, The Hobbit and any other big all-engrossing read that transports you to another world. It’s a heavy read, and not for the faint-hearted but oh it’s worth it!
