Secrets of a Rebel Rock Star (The Watterson Series)

Nat Amoore

Mac is destined to be an awesome rock guitarist or, at least, that’s what his mum thinks. Mac has other ideas as he loves musical theatre and wants to be on stage. When he discovers that all the Arts’ teachers at his school may have to lose their jobs, Mac and his newly found musical theatre friends set out to help in the only way they know how.

This is the third book in the Watterson series and would be a brilliant read for aspiring musicians. It is refreshing to read a book about the world of theatre, especially with plenty of references to current productions, and the importance of providing young people with access to the Arts. It is also an excellent book for explaining and showing Tourette’s syndrome in a funny and frank way, as Mac learns how his friend Flynn lives with this.

I loved this book and have I mentioned gherkins?!
