How to Survive Time Travel

A hectic beginning introducing everyone. Ten year old Eliza, five year old Johnnie and their parents are all capable of time travel. Eliza is plagued by the school bully Sadie Snickpick and life is tough. Mum and Dad have been abducted by their boss Noah who wasn’t going to bring them back. A tree appears in the garden. The siblings chop it down and find a shoe inside with a message from Dad and decide to rescue him. They use their time travel machine – a sofa! At 5, Johnnie has extraordinary powers and manages to take them back, along with the dog, to the year 5060 BCE. As luck would have it, Sadie Snickpick jumps onto the sofa at the final moment. They meet a young god, who turns out to be Noah, and find Mum who is on her death bed as the message on the shoe should have read 5000 BCE. Dad has been frozen by carbonite, and Noah is filling a pyramid with bird guano to blow up the world as everyone is evil and greedy in his eyes! Everyone is in danger even though Johnnie manages to get back home – his father is still frozen in carbonite, but at least he’s back home. Sadie Snickpick made it back too – Eliza was obliterated but we are reassured by the author that she must be ok, because she finishes the book. We await the next book from Larry Hayes for her next adventure!

This book packs a punch from the word go. Suspend belief and launch yourself into it.
