A wonderful factual book about animal families in different continents across the world, exploring ‘ weird and wonderful’ creatures. Succinct information along with questions and activities. The illustrations are beautifully drawn, the size of the book is manageable for small hands and there are fascinating facts along with the occasionally ‘yucky’ detail of who eats poo or who eats their children (hence the title)! A lovely alternative to using a computer.
The title draws you in (taken from the film title ‘Honey, I Shrank the Kids’). Rather than pages full of the same animal, each creature is limited to a double page spread with plenty of information to impress any youngster. The author’s humour is put to good use. Child friendly and a lovely reminder that we can learn from animals and keep them safe and alive.
