Our work in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool

Our service here launched in 2014, serving the needs of the many thousands of children who spend time in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Our books are carefully selected to make sure there’s something for everyone.

Children on the wards at Alder Hey are enthralled by Storyteller Fiona, who has many years of storytelling experience, including being able to tell tales of excitement and intrigue in Welsh for those children who have travelled from nearby North Wales.

In recent years, school children from across Liverpool have joined forces to read and raise money for the hospital via our city-wide Readathons.
