Our work in Addenbrooke’s Hospital

Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge admits thousands of young patients each year, and we’re so pleased to be able to brighten up their day with books and stories. Our service here started in 2014, and we’ve provided the wards with over 6,000 books since then. That means there’s a lot of reading going on!

Don’t be surprised to see our popular storyteller Wilf trundling around the wards pushing our fantastic Read for Good bookcase – their arrival never fails to cheer up children and their families as they share books and stories together.

“Well done, my son is in isolation; reading also gave us things to talk about as well as making him happy.”
