Our work in Addenbrooke’s Hospital

Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge admits thousands of young patients each year, and we’re so pleased to be able to brighten up their day with books and stories. Our service started here in 2014, and we’ve provided the wards with nearly 7,000 books since then. That means there’s been an awful lot of reading going on!

If you’re there, don’t be surprised to see our storyteller, Wilf, pushing our beautiful Read for Good bookcase around the wards – their arrival never fails to cheer up children and their families as they share books and stories together.

“Well done, my son is in isolation; reading also gave us things to talk about as well as making him happy.”
